Brinkworth/Koolunga Cricket Club

Brinkworth Cricket Club was formed on 11 March 1895. Little information survives of the matches played from then until 1904.

From 1904 to 1914 competed against local towns Yacka, Koolunga, Blyth and Kybunga.

Cricket went into recess during the Great War but resumed as soon as possible after 1918.

During the 1970’s Brinkworth and Koolunga Clubs combined form the successful Brinkworth/Koolunga Cricket Club.

The Brinkworth Koolunga Cricket Club fields A and Colts Teams in the Stanley Cricket Association (Clare).

Known as the ‘Gold Caps’, A Grade has played in the last nine Grand Finals and won five premierships. Although the Club no longer fields a B Grade team, prior to its disbandment the B Grade team had played in five out of seven Grand Finals and won two premierships.

All training nights are held at the Brinkworth Oval.

Ladies play in a team combined with Koolunga and Yacka. They play neighbouring towns from Clare to Mundoora on Thursdays.
